HISTORY
Personal Best was started in 1984 by Ian Reynolds, B.App.Sc. (Human Movement).
For Ian, working in the Fitness Industry was a long-term goal, which became a reality in 1978 with a part-time position at a city gymnasium. He continued to work in the Fitness Industry to gain experience, but concurrently did a Bachelor Applied Science, majoring in Human Movement at Phillip Institute of Technology (now RMIT Bundoora).
After completing his course in November 1981, within 3 years of working in the Fitness Industry and totally disillusioned with the level of Professionalism, Care, Expertise, attention to clients and job security, Ian started Personal Best Fitness Centre, opening in October 1984. The inspiration for the Clubs name came during the 1984 Winter Olympics.
In 1987 the decision was made to move out of modest beginnings to the purpose built present location in Bayswater Road, Bayswater, and with months of planning, the new centre opened on 1st February 1988.
Since then the 2nd floor was put on for aerobics the consulting rooms added, the Turbo Tighten circuit has been started, the crèche moved to a much larger (now registered) area, the Turbo circuit and gymnasium expanded and much more equipment added to where we are today. It doesn't all stop there, we have many plans for the future.
